Terms and Conditions

Our mods are © Modding Legacy, all rights reserved unless we say otherwise. Most of our code is source-available, meaning you can read it, learn from it, fix bugs, and send us pull requests. We just ask that you don't republish, port, or pass our work off as your own. The short version: work with us, don't copy us.

What we like

Play our mods
Download and play any of our mods for free, including running them on your own servers. The whole point of making them is for people to enjoy them, so go right ahead.
Use them in modpacks
Add our mods to your modpacks on CurseForge and Modrinth. We love seeing our work mixed with others, just keep it on the sites we publish to.
Make addons
Read our code to build your own addons and compatibility patches. This is exactly why we keep it open, and we love seeing what you come up with.
Help out
Fix bugs, add modpack compatibility, translate, or whatever else helps. Open a pull request when you're ready. You keep ownership of what you write, you just let us keep using it in our mods.

What we don't like

Republish our mods
Don't re-upload our mods or code on other sites. We only publish on CurseForge and Modrinth so you always get the real, safe, up-to-date file.
Post your own forks
Don't release your own builds or forks. We put real care into quality, and multiple versions just confuse players and create support headaches. Private forks just for contributing are fine.
Port or backport
Don't port our mods to other game versions, loaders, or platforms. A port is still our code, and we can't keep up with or fix versions we didn't make.
Reuse our assets
Don't use our textures, sounds, or models without asking. They take real time and effort to make, and they're a big part of what makes our mods ours.

Questions? Reach out to us on Discord. These terms apply to all of our projects unless a specific project states otherwise.

Other terms that apply

Our mods also exist within these frameworks, which are worth a read: Minecraft EULA (Mojang), CurseForge Mod Authors Terms (Overwolf), Modrinth Terms of Use, and Modrinth Content Rules.
